[00:00:00] Introduction: Welcome to the #PirateBroadcast™, where we interview #interestingpeople doing #interestingthings. Where you can expand your connections, your community, #kindnessiscool and #smilesarefree. Let’s get this party started.

Russ Johns: And it's a Monday and I'm here. Solo cause you know what? [00:01:00] I had a cancellation, not one but two this week. I just recognized it in my email that another guest canceled and we'll be talking about that later, but obviously there's a lot going on. A lot of people are recovering from snow storms, ice storms, winter weather, disruptions of service, those kinds of things. Life happens. However, I'm going to tell you a story about the journey of an entrepreneur, because I think it's important for everybody to understand that this is what happens. And I wrote to Nick Gemmell the other day sent him a little messages and said the pain of the past is the fuel for the future. And the reality is that's how we experience life. [00:02:00] That's how we understand what we need to do next is from experience. People are going to cancel. I think this is 356 shows. Out of 356 shows, I think I've had less than five cancellations. A lot of them have been rescheduled. I think almost everyone's been rescheduled except maybe someone in...I had one cancellation in New Zealand that was three in the morning and they said, yeah, I don't think I want to do that. Is there another alternative? I go live 7:00 AM, Arizona time every morning and no it's 7:00 AM Arizona time every morning. [00:03:00] That's the cadence I've selected to do this show with. I have a morning routine. I wake up, make some coffee, make a juice smoothie. Hello. #gratitude comb my beard. Make sure that the cameras are on. The lights are on. Everything is going on and I enjoy having a conversation with you. That's what we do at the #PirateBroadcast™. #Interestingpeople doing #interestingthings. Now I could, and I thought about making a few phone calls reaching out and having people join in. And I could, what you mean? Ronald Earl Wilsher how are you doing my friend? [00:04:00] Why are you not on the #PirateBroadcast™? Why are you not a pirate? Ronald Earl Wilsher. And I used to do a show called RNR podcast. And I forget the rest of it. What was what's the tagline, Mr. R what's the tagline that we had, I don't recall. It was a fun show. It was a fun show and it was really great to be able to entertain people and educate them and talk about all of the things that we used to ramble on about Michael Baker. Good morning, michael Baker. Good morning. So today I've had several requests. If you follow me for any length of time, you probably seen my animated posts, a little snippets #gratitude, you are awesome. Some of these things that I put out and I thought [00:05:00] since I don't have a guest today, what I would like to accomplish is probably, can you hear me? There is no audio or it's my computer. Can everybody hear me? Russ can you hear me, Mr. R can you hear me had a report in the comments from YouTube that there is no audio. Can I confirm anyone? Bueller? Hey, Bob, can you hear me this morning? Thank you. I hear you. So jorge, I think that it must be your computer. Thank you so much. Thank you for the feedback. So going back to what I wanted to accomplish today, I used [00:06:00] to do a lot of two minute tips and teach a lot of techniques on how to create content. And so what I want to do today is a lot of people have been asking me, Hey, Russ how do you create that animated gif? I see gifs. I can upload gifs on my social channels. However, I create specific gifs per se. Some people were asking me how I do it. And so I was thinking since I don't have a guest today, I may want to provide some education. So I thought maybe what I could do is jump into Canva and share how I do this process. If you're up for it I'd be more than happy to share this information with you, and then we can walk through it and you can see what is necessary to create these little, what I call moments of surprise. When you drop somebody, something that's customized specific to them or it's unique and [00:07:00] unusual. It's a surprise, much like my Dubb videos. I put Dubb videos in messages, emails, and everything that goes along with that. And that allows us to actually produce some results that people are surprised about. Often times they're going, wow, that's unique. Thank you for taking the time to do that. And that special touch can make the difference. And I know that a lot of people enjoy and appreciate a special touch. So audio on LinkedIn. Thank you so much. Hiett Ives is here. Tracie I noticed we had another cancellation this week, twice in one week that has never happened on the #PirateBroadcast™. So it looks like it's going to be an entertaining week or an educational one, at least. So let's jump in and then I wanna come back and talk about some things that are going on [00:08:00] with the #PirateBroadcast™ and the #PirateSyndicate™. All right. Fair enough. You all on board let's make this happen.

All right. Okay. So I'm going to jump in. I'm going to share this. This is my account. So I'm going to create a design. This is Canva, and you can just create a design. I want to come down here. I want to do custom and I'm going to do, let's do a 600 width and a 200 height. Then we're just going to create a new design. And I can hide this. I don't even have that up there. And so what I want to do is I want to come in here to elements. Let's come down here and let's do the gradients cause gradients are fun. So we come down here and we can actually make this a gradient, any color. You can actually make this color and change this color and adjust the size. It fits so you can actually get the gradient across the whole entire place. All right, you're going to [00:09:00] do that. And then let's change this to white. Just as an example, let's just change this to blue. Let's go to blue. Let's go to a dark blue. Let's go to this one. All right and then let's and I'm just pulling this off the fly and you can actually create some other things that are, then we can actually put some elements on here and you could pick whatever elements you want. You can take a look and a feel and say in say here that blue's not working out with the purple. Now let's go back to that purple. Is that the right color? Is that the one we want? Let's go to white. Let's try this lighter blue. Let's go here. Okay. All right, let's go back to elements and let's put this back here. Let's pick this one here. [00:10:00] This is for my good friend Grant, eagles and arrows. He owns a golf company, owns golf apparel. So he might appreciate this and then you can just play with this. And what happens is you play with this and you have different scenarios, and then you say, hey, let's put some text on there. #PirateBroadcast™ I can spell this morning. Let's make that bigger.. We're just playing. I'm not really trying to create anything amazing here. And then you go over here and this is for a paid account. You need a paid account for this to actually work. Now, having a paid account offers the opportunity to do a lot more with some of the tools, some of the features and [00:11:00] functionality you can actually export gifs and things like that. So what I want to do here is I'm going to go back and I want to highlight this, let's do this way. Can you still see me? Okay. All right. So I'm going to move this out of the way. Okay. So now up here in the corner, it says animate. So let's animate, let's pop this thing. Boom. And then what I would do is I would take this down to about two seconds all right. It didn't go two seconds. I want to go two seconds to zero. All right. Why is it not doing it? Does it want me to do the slider? Done. Okay. There we go. Two seconds and then you can play this thing. All right. Just like that close. [00:12:00] And  you don't notice the effect right off the bat. However, when you actually go to download it, Instead of an MP4. You want to come down here to a GIF or Jif, depending on what you want to call it GIF. Is it GIF or Jif? Let me know. Good morning. Angie we're creating gifs or jifs which one is it? So then we want to download this. Let's download it. And so as we download this and we set this on a place where we can actually go and it's processing this, then you can take this and put it into a library and we're going to put it in my my animation library, and we'll call it #PirateBroadcast™; however, I don't think I want to use pound sign for my #PirateBroadcast™. We'llsay number one. Save it. Okay. So now let me go to LinkedIn, [00:13:00] share a post, start a post. Oh, let me share it here. Let me share it with you. So I'm going to add a picture, even though it's a gif. I want to add a picture in here. Select image. I'm gonna go to animation. I'm gonna go. #PirateBroadcast™ gif. Done. I'm having a hard time spelling today, teaching. Okay. Then I can post that.  Boom. See how that works?  So when you're interested in creating something new, fun, and exciting, and you want to be able to put a couple of elements in your feed to pop. Bam! You want to make it happen. You can actually go into [00:14:00] Canva and just create a little GIF and super simple, super easy. And now, the magic of the #PirateBroadcast™ there you go. So any questions? Yes. Hard G. There you go. You heard it here first folks. It's always entertaining here at the #PirateBroadcast™. I hope so. I hope so.

The reality is I know Ronald Earl Wilsher says yes. Okay. I want to be able to help people understand what is possible. It's like cameras, it's like anything, music, [00:15:00] entertainment, podcasting. There's a lot of things that you can do and what brings us to the point of talking about is the #PirateSyndicate™ and I've been playing around with this thing and I haven't really put it out there and I really don't know. Nobody's going to come and save me there's no look at me, nobody's coming to save me. Be responsible for myself and create this thing called the #PirateSyndicate™ now. There's two pieces of the puzzle. The #PirateSyndicate™ I'm building this out so you can learn how to do these things yourself. That's one piece of the puzzle, incredibly valuable, incredibly helpful, and a great community. Just like the #PirateBroadcast™. The other side is for the individual that understands their time is incredibly valuable. [00:16:00] I talk to business owners all the time and say, I don't want to do, I don't want to deal with that. I just need it done for me. I just need it done for me. I know Tracie was involved in a big event last week. She did amazing work. She's an incredible human and I just thank you Angie for introducing me to Tracie and doing this work. And so having an opportunity to allow people to help other people and build a team and a community around people that are skilled in a set of crafts that can help others generate income, interest, build authority and broadcast. It's amazing to me to build a community like that. I have a group of producers that can actually produce a show for individuals and organizations out there. [00:17:00] So if your organization, if you're looking for someone that knows how to put on an event, create a show broadcast, live stream, events, that's when you reach out to us at the #PirateSyndicate™ and contact us and allow us to help you do the heavy lifting on the back end. We're behind the scenes, making sure that everything is going, making sure that the gifs are working. Just like this. Yeah. A little spice in the day, making sure that you had the opportunity and do this now. It's not for everyone. It's not for everyone because some people like myself, we want to know how to do this. We want to learn how to do this. We want to be able to, because I'm curious, I love learning things and it's [00:18:00] somewhat challenging at times because it does take time and I really love the opportunity to do this and put things into perspective. However, not everybody is made in the same way. Some people know that it has to get done and they just want somebody to help them do it. Delegate it. And my mantra for the last year is document and delegate. That's why Tracieis here producing this show. I produced the first 30 episodes just to make sure that I had the system in place. I could book guests on, I could actually produce results. I could get guests on the show. I could notify them and let them know that things were going well. I could notify or add images to social media and let people know that there was a show announcements. And [00:19:00] so I did this so I could document it. And once you document a process in a system, then you can delegate that system. And the pirate system, the #PirateSyndicate™ is building these processes so you don't have to. You can show up, I can do the work, have the team do the work and have people actually help you be seen, be heard and be talked about in the best possible way. And it's a fun adventure. It's one of those things that you have an opportunity to contribute to if you want to. Create a course, be part of a community that has live streaming. That is podcasting, that is graphic design content creation, and we're going to be producing a lot of results for a lot of people. [00:20:00] And also you may know someone that needs our help. You may know somebody that says, man, I really would like to do a live stream. I just don't know where to start. Well start with #PirateSyndicate™ dammit. Nobody's going to come out there and do it for you. You got to reach out and talk to me, talk to Tracie talk to a pirate, have them reach out to us. Love to have a conversation with that. This is a movement, now that 2020, and we've seen the movement to zoom. Everybody is familiar with online, all the newscasters, all the media, everybody's online, just like this, just like you and I are on today. And the reality is that we have an opportunity to generate a lot of interest, share stories, [00:21:00] bring people on. Manage your expectations, grow our business.  I've been in this business long enough to know that even before websites were around and a lot of business owners would say, yeah, I don't need a website because that's not where my customers hang out. They don't go to my website. Yeah. I don't need email because I don't communicate with many customers with email. Yeah, I don't do video because none of my customers watch video. People are people they're going to learn how to connect with you. See a face with a name, message and put it out there. And I continue to work on my message. I continue to work on my craft and I continue to practice on the video, the audio, the graphics, everything that goes into it. [00:22:00] And now building a team with the #PirateSyndicate™ allows and affords you the opportunity to be able to be seen, be heard and be talked about. Show up and we'll do the work. So I wanted to share that with you today because well, we had a cancellation and we had an opportunity to actually share something else, share something new. Take action. This last couple of weeks has been challenging because there's a lot of things that are taking place. There are a lot of things going on and all business owners have the ability and the opportunity to make an impact. Are you on my new way cool friends list, Mr. R? If not, you should [00:23:00] be. Yes, I am. Absolutely. And Robert... Bob having the right equipment is so important, just having the right people on the team. Amen. It makes a difference. It makes a difference and it makes it matter because you have the opportunity to share your gifts. You have a gift, you have a message and there's somebody out there waiting to hear your message waiting for your impact, waiting to do business with you. They just haven't found yet. It's a noisy world in order to accomplish some of those connections, you're going to have to do something different. If you're going to change your future, sometimes you have to change your direction and changing your direction and video and everything that's going on is the best way to [00:24:00] introduce yourself. Educate your community. Adjust your expectations with the community you're dealing with, making sure that they're crystal clear on who you help, how you help them. There's a lot of power in video, not everybody's comfortable with it. However, in the last year, a lot more people have become comfortable with video. Getting the message out there is less and less of a challenge. And there's people out there doing this work and producing results every single day. And I encourage you to think about it, consider it, and make sure that you have the opportunity to #makeitmatter because you matter. I hope you [00:25:00] found this valuable and if you did, I would really appreciate you sharing it. This quick Canva video is a simple process that can make the difference between somebody calling you back and somebody picking up the phone and making the first call. Surprise people with something a little more than just buy my stuff. Surprise people with the conversation, be approachable, be open and allow people to take initiative to connect with you. And if you're not connected to the #PirateBroadcast™ and you're not connected to me go over on YouTube. Like, comment and share, subscribe, get notified, hit that bell so you actually get notified when I launch [00:26:00] a new show. Now I understand not everybody can watch the show every day. We all got things to do and sometimes we have other things we have to take place and know that you have people in your corner working on your behalf, doing things that are going to assist you in the future. And if you have questions or you're stuck on something, I'm always open to having a conversation. If it turns into a engagement, that's okay. I'll work to work to get an answer for you. Anyway, The podcast also, I would love review on the podcast, building these things and letting people know that you're out there is an incredible opportunity for everyone. So wish you the very best in all your adventures today. Thank you so much for showing up, being here, learning something and go out and create some value for somebody because [00:27:00] #kindnessiscool and #smilesarefree and you #enjoytheday.
