Russ Johns 0:21
Let's get it dialed in here. Why am I on Jim white? Oh, no. Look at this. Check this out. I had this all set up. There we go. A Thanksgiving theme, with a little #PirateBroadcast™ in the pies. I hope everybody's having a wonderful Thanksgiving. Maybe if nobody's watching this, which is possible. Because everybody's going to think, why would Russ have a show on Thanksgiving? And let me share a little bit about why I would have a show on Thanksgiving. And it's for giving thanks. The #PirateBroadcast™ has been evolving, just involved in the community, involved in LinkedIn, been growing and putting great people out there highlighting everybody. Hey, good morning, Happy Thanksgiving. Darlene. She's here, somebody’s here. It's awesome. It's fantastic. And I just want to remind everybody, that it doesn't take a special day to be thankful. However, it you can stop and slow down and think about what you're thankful for, having a few things that you're thankful for. And it doesn't have to be big, it doesn't have to be huge. I'm thankful for people like Darlene watching the show this morning. And somebody may see this in another place, aother time. I'm going to remind you that, and this is something I'm going to be working on this weekend, is the gratitude I have for all of the people in the pirate community. And also, I'm going to be changing things up a little bit, I'm going to be focusing a little bit more on growing a YouTube audience. Because video seems to be popular on YouTube, go figure. I mean, it's one of those things you have to kind of reflect on and say, wow, this is kind of crazy. However, if you're not signed up to my YouTube channel, please sign up for my YouTube channel, I've got a little over 300 subscribers. And it's really one of those things that you have to…I know I have to put some effort into it. I've been putting a lot of effort into LinkedIn, so I'm going to expand that effort into YouTube. Because I think it's a good place to help more people engage with a bigger audience. And I appreciate the fact that I can meet new people. There are a lot of people on YouTube that probably don't have a LinkedIn account. So anyway, Mike is here, and all your Canadians. But my sister Mel, I am thankful for you. I am so thankful for Mel. She helps me so much, provides me with so much support. She and I worked together on this whole #PirateBroadcast™, #PirateSyndicate™ and media and marketing business that we run. And it's really been the best thing in my life that's happened, to be able to work with my family and support mom here in Arizona. I moved here to be with mom and dad and thankful for that. And even though we lost dad last year, or actually on Father's Day, I'm thankful for that. I'm thankful for the experience and the opportunity to be here and really enjoy time together. Time is very limited on this planet. In the big scheme of things, we're going to be gone a lot longer than we're here, so, let's make the best of it. Let's appreciate every single day, let's be grateful. And that's not to say that every day is rainbows and unicorns. Russ, let's go sailing, baby! Absolutely, Michael. And it's people like Mike and Mel and Darlene and Angie and Russ. Thank you so much, Russ. Appreciate you, brother. Jeff Young is here in the house. It’s almost a year ago to the day that I became a pirate, so thankful I met you and learned. #kindnessiscool and #smilesarefree. Absolutely, positively true. And I feel the same way. Jeff, you are an amazing individual that's always helping people out. And this is why it's so satisfying to me to understand and appreciate every individual that has been here, has been supportive, involved and engaged in the pirate community. Howard Kaufman, Happy Thanksgiving to you as well. Stay safe and sane, healthy. And at least two out of three. All right. And Hiett Ives is here from Houston. Happy Thanksgiving. Have a great day. Tracie, thank you so much. I saw your website page. I talked to Angie yesterday and I'm glad that you got that figured out. If you need some assistance on it, I'm available. I think I'll have a few days off. So, Tracie is a producer for the #PirateBroadcast™. And she she's the thing that makes…she's the person that makes everything go in the background and makes it operate. So, I think I need to introduce you to Michael because Michael may want to do a podcast, Tracie. So, we may want to connect you guys and assist in the background as well. SlapTagz, Happy Thanksgiving, thankful for the moments we can learn, grow and be part of a wonderful group of kind souls spanning the globe. And this is a global thing. The #PirateSyndicate™ has been all over the world. I seldom turn down connections. And just to be clear, I don't need forex or Bitcoin. I don't need it. Want a new website right now? Because I build websites. I don't know if you knew that. I created quite a few. And I don't need 10,000 new users on my profile. Oh, I love you all. I just really appreciate and have gratitude for the people that are out there doing great things, supportive, kind, considerate. And I just I know that we're going to be having more. Sheri Lally. For those that don't know, I'm working on putting together a program that I could actually send out a patch and some pirate treasure, and engage people in the community in a new unique way. So, I'm going to be reflecting on that. Mail is going to help out. And we're going to put something together and get that going. And if I were to ask you if I can mail you something. Is that pushing the boundaries? Or is that too far? That would probably work, wouldn't it? That's the only way I can get you something in the mail is to mail it to you. I'm drinking my green smoothie in the morning. It's actually green juice, but because I've been juicing, working on staying healthy, so I can be a pirate little longer. I want to know if anybody has any questions about the #PirateBroadcast™ or what? What's behind the curtain. Darlene says I'm watching you, I'm so appreciative for you and this LinkedIn fam. I love Darlene. Thank you so much. I know that we've just barely met in New York. For Gabriel's four hour show the other night. And Darlene came on in. And friend of Gabriel's, and just having fun and just relaxing and enjoying life, and his shows are much longer than mine. And sometimes they get extended version. It was supposed to be a shorter show with Raquel. And it went on for a little while, but I just, it was great, meeting new people. And then Jason Liebowitz was on, he had a 24-hour telethon for his platform, XXO, and doing that. And so that's another opportunity to get involved and engaged in a great audience and a great collection of people. I'm just sharing examples of all the wonderful people in the community here that are doing really, really great things. One of the things that I also struggle with is being engaged enough. I feel as if I could spend all day on LinkedIn, and still not be able to respond to all the connections and conversations and collaborations. So this show is really part of what I'm dedicated to. If I don't always get back to an answer, or a question or a conversation that is taking place, I will eventually come around, I work really hard to attempt to respond to all the requests I get and conversations I have. And fortunately, being a remote producer and producing shows for other people, and producing, I have been busy. And it's been, 2020 hasn't been the worst year, it hasn’t been my worst year. So, I'm so very grateful for that. Mel and I are really busy. And life is full of activities, and we got a lot of things that are going on in our world, and a lot more activity going on in our world. I've been doing some work with stream yard and dubb, dub video, and I'll be putting some more courses out if you go to piratesyndicate.com/courses, I'm starting to put courses out there. And I'm going to continue to put courses out there. And also, I'm activating Two Minute Tips in a new unique way. Historically, my Two Minute Tips in 10 minutes or less, have been just to kind of end of the day conversation with myself and a few people online. And just sharing some thoughts and reflection type of thing. However, there's a lot of people that have been asking for, how do I do this? How do I do that? What's the tool to do this? What's the tool to do that? And I love creating these short little snippets. I do it for people all the time. It's like, how do I do this thing, and I and I just created a quick video and send it off to him. And it's not necessarily in a place that I can share it all the time, in a systematic way. So, I want to start a newsletter, a video newsletter that allows you to receive tips on subjects you want to be informed about, and share that information in a unique way. So that's on my list. And I've been practicing it and putting it together. So, look forward to that. If you'd like more information on receiving updates and tips and some techniques and suggestions and opportunities to improve. drop me a line, drop me a message, a DM and let's make sure that you get involved and engaged so I can test this out and you can give me some feedback. I mean there's no cost involved in it. So, if you want some updates and tips that would be great love to share it with you and put that in place. The point is that I want to make sure that I share the value you bring to the table. And I want to make sure that I continue to add value to the conversation. And that's what I'm thankful for. I'm thankful for you being here. And I know that 2021 is going to be unfolding here shortly, sooner than we think. It's December next week, I cannot believe it, this year has gone by. It's been a crazy, crazy journey. However, we're all together. And I just want to make sure that I’m here. There's Angie. Good morning. Tracie was here earlier, Angie. And she was, I told her that if you…Angie and Tracie are going to be starting a podcast here. Not sure when it's gonna launch, and they've been working on it. And I just want to support them. And I want to put them in this. And we'll have them on the #PirateBroadcast™ once they get that launched and have them both on together. So, Mike Hubicki says, Love treasure, Russ! Yes, yes, we got some treasure going on. Oh, I found my people. So thankful, so much energy in support here. Thank you so much. I know that we all have something to contribute to community that provides kindness and generosity. So, I wanted to be able to jump on here today and share a few things that I'm thankful for. And I hope that you're thankful for as well. Is there something that you're thankful for, that I've missed out on, drop it in the comments, and let's share it today because I think this is a day for being thankful. I know, Mike, you have a different day in Canada for Thanksgiving. However, every day, I know I can be grateful, I can be thankful, I can appreciate life. And I know that there's some things that may not necessarily seem like you should be thankful for, like, my wrinkles, because of laughter. My scars because I've lived and my experience, because I've been bumped along the road a little bit. So, we all have experience, we all have an understanding of what our life looks like. And seldom does it look exactly how we planned it out in our younger years. Maybe somebody does, maybe it's all working exactly as you planned it. And for that, that's awesome. That is wonderful. It doesn't always work out that way, though. I just want to make sure that you do, however, appreciate what you have. I wake up every day, put my feet on the floor, have gratitude for everything that takes place. I'm not as flexible as I once was, not as quick as I used to be. However, I am more grateful now than I have been in the past and a better person for it. And I just want to make sure that I share that gratitude and expand the community around that topic, that subject. And also share it with more people. If we can make an impact on one person, that's awesome, that's fantastic. one person at a time is great. And it's a ripple effect. Because if I share something with you today, and you think about that and impacts you in a positive way, so you're in a better mood, that impacts the people that you're around. You'll be grateful, be thankful, be content with some of the things that are in your world. And also recognize that change is possible. Now there have been a lot of situations in our lives that , my life in particular, I didn't necessarily ask for. There's things that I didn't really care for. However, the experience tempered me to be who I am today. So, would I do it over again, probably not. I'm not one to look at life that way. I believe in change, I believe in evolving, I believe in changing and removing things from your life that no longer serve you. And I tend to be a minimalist in a lot of ways. Sometimes I over consume content and I probably have way too many lessons in my life that I need to continue to learn and improve. Just to make sure I'm clear, this broadcast is streaming to LinkedIn, YouTube, Facebook and Periscope at the same time. So, my next community will be on YouTube. So, I want to make sure that if you're not subscribed to my YouTube channel, that you get subscribed to my YouTube channel, and also the podcast. If you go to russjohns.com/piratebroadcast, there's a big red button on the home screen. Russjohns.com, just subscribe to get notified for the #PirateBroadcast™ Hiett, you continue to give me suggestions on what I can say. And I appreciate that. I love the feedback from the community on how I can improve. Angie offers me suggestions and recommendations on a regular basis, always improving. I just love the feedback. I received so many great tips from Jeff Young, on LinkedIn. Suggestions, recommendations. There's so many amazing people. I got John Esperion’s book on LinkedIn. And I know a lot about LinkedIn. I don't consider myself or I don't propose that I'm a LinkedIn trainer. Because that's not something I'm focusing on. I'm a remote producer, I produce shows and strategies for putting out live stream shows and podcasting. I've been podcasting since 2014. I've been in the podcasting space, radio and broadcast a lot of shows, a lot of podcasts. I taught a podcast movement, I taught at university, the journalism programs. I've taught podcasting and some of the reasons why I know I'm broadcasting at least three or four shows a month for different organizations. I'm really excited about where live streaming is going and what is taking place in the industry. And you are the media. I've been preaching that subject. You are the media. Pick up your phone and get started. Podcast broadcast, live streaming video, every platform has video on it. I have to give a shout out to Kenyatta Turner, she was giving a workshop away in one of her groups on how to, it's a workshop on how to use video to increase your audience on LinkedIn. And it was really powerful because I hadn't…I'm not…I'm on Facebook, but I'm not on Facebook. I'm not on Facebook all the time. I'm not a power user on Facebook. It's like, I don't see because normally I stream to Facebook from stream yard. But it's like, okay, I didn't see how exactly I needed to produce a live stream on Facebook from her group. It's like, Is that possible? So, she says, yeah, just go here, here in here. boom, done. So, you can always learn something new. You can always interact and have conversations with other people and learn something new. And I encourage you to do that. And I am committed to a couple of things. I am going to continue to commit to five days a week on LinkedIn, YouTube, Periscope and Facebook. Look for the #PirateBroadcast™. The #PirateSyndicate™, I'm going to continue to help people build their strategy out, continue to grow and assist individuals and organizations in producing live stream broadcasts, podcasts, and content creation. That's my focus. And then I'm also going to continue to support people by sending out Two Minute Tips, building courses, and creating, hopefully, entertaining and informative bits of content. So, if there's something else that I'm missing, or you would like to see, drop me a line. Let's have a conversation. I want to also do some webinars with individuals I love. Yeah, Gabriel's here. Yes, Kenyatta Turner. Super awesome. Yes. And Happy Thanksgiving, my friend. He's in here today. You'll be probably eating some turkey later on, I hope to say, Angie Schuman. Good morning, Angie. Happy Thanksgiving. So I just love the community because everybody's going in, love the message, Russ Johns. Yeah, my heart pours out to everybody that is here because I'm so blessed and fortunate and gifted to be able to have friends like the pirate community. It's just amazing to be able to put this out there and bring people together like this. And these introductions are meaningful. , when you meet people, and then your friends and you go, and you meet them in person eventually, when we can do that again. I love that. I love the opportunity to connect and collaborate and work together. Maybe some workshops would be fantastic. And you have an opportunity to work with other people and set the example, produce the results. Even if it's imperfect. I'm perfectly perfect in being imperfect. I'm perfectly okay with that. So yes, yes, Angie, you are totally an angel. Love you. And thank you so much Russ, you're changing the face of connecting people and changing my life. Thank you, Mike. That means more than you'll know. I appreciate you and MichaelHubicki.com. Go check it out. Michael was a pirate here a few weeks ago, and he's doing thriving mayor, he's going to be interviewing mayors around North America. And he's been a coach. He's been amazing landscape architect. Building ski resorts in a desert and all kinds of amazing adventures in his life. And I just want to have you recognize that every one of you has a gift, every one of you has a message. Every one of you is special in a unique and individual way. And shining the light on that unique gift you have and you bring to the table is so important for the community is for people around you. And you may not necessarily be the person for everyone. However, you can be the person for someone , you can actually understand and know that there's a certain group of individuals that believe that #kindnessiscool and #smilesarefree. And when you found that combination, you're in the pirate community. Darlene says, I'm committed to the team. I love learning and growing, super thankful for this new LinkedIn fam. Ah, music to my ears. I just thank you. That's all I can say. Thank you. I love it. If anybody's doing anything special on Thanksgiving, I just send you out blessings, send out virtual hugs. High fives. I'm not sure. I'm a hugger. But that's before COVID, now I just got a virtual hug. So, I just appreciate you. And I just wanted to drop in and make sure that you understand that I'm here, committed. And I'm interested in supporting the community ,continuing to support the community. And love our connection. Love the community. And wanted to thank you for being here. And if you're watching this in the future, go subscribe. But go subscribe to the YouTube channel. I'm going to drive that home. Gabriel has over 1000 connections; Gabriel, I need to need to draft off of you. And it's probably because he asked people to get on his YouTube channel, too. He puts a lot of effort into it. He's doing some great work. Go follow Gabriel. If you're not following Gabriel go follow Gabriel. He has a great show every night. Or almost every night. He's been doing some great work as well. So have a great day everyone. Yes, thank you so much, Gabriel. Darlene. Yes, we are family. Absolutely family. So, everyone, be safe, stay healthy. Come back to the community. Drop in once in a while. I know it's not easy for everyone to be here every day. That's okay. It's all right. And have a very Happy Thanksgiving. Love you all. #enjoytheday. Because #kindnessiscool. #smilesarefree. So yes. #enjoytheday. Happy Thanksgiving. Now, if I can get back to where I was one thing that I could improve here.
