Introduction: [00:00:00] Welcome to the #PirateBroadcast™, where we interview #interestingpeople doing #interestingthings. Where you can expand your connections, your community, #kindnessiscool and #smilesarefree. Let’s get this party started.

Russ Johns: [00:00:10] I guess I need to unmute my mic. And good morning. Good morning. Good morning, pirates. It's Admiral as wendy would say,  I just want to take a moment and thank everyone for all the birthday wishes, all the #gratitude in the world and everything else. We don't have a guest this morning because I'm apparently slacking off. I had instructions from Tracie, she'd give them, she gave me clear instructions. She goes, Russ, for some reason, you don't have a guest on the fifth. And I invited a few people and apparently nobody took me up on my offer. So here I am and also just to let you know that we're not streaming live today, apparently because LinkedIn requires you to actually book a session and open it up in advance. So the constraints are there, so we're just linking YouTube in LinkedIn. And we can link Facebook, whatever it happens to be. So if you're on Twitch, YouTube, Facebook Twitter, now Periscope, this is a small announcement apparent Periscopes being grandfathered away and they're no longer going to be broadcasting on Periscope. Let me know in the comments if you actually can you can hear my AC unit come up because I'm trying to see if that's actually working or not. Or if my echo cancellation is off because I was working with Devin James yesterday, we had a special show yesterday. If you didn't catch it, go back and check it out. It's awesome. I created some tracks and he created some of his flow therapy. He actually put that out there and it was really an amazing opportunity to just get creative and have fun and do something completely different than what I'm used to doing. And it was nice. It was great to hang out and it was an opportunity to actually have a show in the afternoon. We did it at three o'clock yesterday, I believe.  It was very nice. So I hope everyone had a great weekend. I anticipate that there's going to be a few people that can't join because they can't find me. And that's the joy of live streaming. You got find it. Yeah, you can go back and check it out. However, when things like this take place, it's a little bit challenging at times to catch the show, which is okay, I'll keep it a short and sweet. I want to give a shout out to everybody that did in fact, send birthday wishes and all of the, generous messages. I've attempted to work through my list of people that I was going to, people that did and send them a message. And what's interesting is I created a video specifically for this. And if I haven't sent you one yet, I will. However a lot of people received the message, but they don't open the message. And I'm sure that people are busy. Life is busy and it doesn't always happen that you have an opportunity to actually catch up and receive that message. Also, there's a couple of things that I wanted to share is that if you know someone that you find interesting and, somebody is a pirate and you want to be able to introduce someone to the #PirateBroadcast™, please send me a message, direct message, send a DM and introduce me to individuals. I know there are a lot of people out there that have done it, and there's been a lot of people on the show as a result of that introduction. And I just want to continue to expand this community. Provide an opportunity for people to actually make that connection. So let's expand the community, let's expand the conversation. So if you have someone that's interesting and that would be a good fit for the conversations we have here on the #PirateBroadcast, send them my way, because I'd like to to share those individuals with you on the #PirateBroadcast.  Also, if there's anyone that, would like to receive the same experience that you received as a pirate on the #PirateBroadcast, the notifications, the follow-up, Tracie sending you messages and making sure that you know where to go when to be there and all of the things that are involved in that process. Introduce me. I'd love to help someone else. I'd love to help more people share their message, their introductions to the #PirateBroadcast and the #PirateSyndicate. That whole process is designed to help other people create shows, create their own message, create their own brand and get their word out. And it's a simple equation and I know Tracie would love to help you. And there's other people out there that would be willing to come to the table as well and help out, we have producers waiting to produce shows. So if you're interested in something like that, let me know. I'm more than willing to have a conversation with you. In fact, I have a couple today. We've got a couple of other shows coming in that are going to be showing up and also if you're a pirate, and you have something going on in the world and you want to share it, let me know. There's lots of great people out there that are looking forward to making the connection with you. So tell me what's going on in your world. Is there anyone out there that is having a little bit of a performance anxiety, you want to jump on and you want to show up on a #PirateBroadcast in the future? Let's work through it. I was up late last night. So it's crazy. I, for some reason last night I could not unwind and I'm not sure if anybody else gets that way. And there are just times where I just there's too many things going on. There's too many amazing opportunities to sleep. And I know that sleep is important and self care is important and I need to continue to work on that because I have a tendency to want to continue to do more. And it's a challenge. My eyes are burning right now because they've been up staring at a screen too long. And there's so many exciting things taking place. I'm not complaining. I'm just saying it's a marathon. We have to continue to realize that this thing is in this process of building a company, building an organization and building all these things that we are building, whatever it happens to be is really it's a marathon. It's. It's not a sprint, it's not one and done. It's an evolution. And we have to continue to show up everyday and take baby steps to move forward. Go back and check out that episode of Devin. James. I think it was really an eye opener and it was really very telling on what could or could not take place. I love it. And there's a few other episodes last week that are just a lot of great episodes and I'm not sure if you know this or not. So you can check this out because over in Russ Johns, Russ Johns is hosting, I think it's, we're close to 400 episodes on the #PirateBroadcast. I'm not sure if you realize that over 400, almost 400.   I've had more than 400 recordings and that's pretty amazing. Not very many people get to do that. Thank you. Thank you so much for being part of the journey and also on YouTube. I don't know what YouTube, how many followers and subscribers do we have on YouTube now? Should we check it out? Let's find out together. Okay. See what we're going to do. Oh, we got to turn the volume down here. Oh, are we going to get. Your channel 404 subscribers. I think that's pretty good. I'm not chasing numbers, I'm chasing conversations. And I want to make sure that we have conversations with people and there's so many things that we're distracted by and. Interested in and people are really doing some different things. So it says I'm live here. Am I live different things? Yeah, I'm live. There we are. All right. Now, Sheri Lally. Can't get in to LinkedIn. Oh, there you are. Okay. I can't get into LinkedIn. Sheri, are you unable to do get into LinkedIn period because I'm not streaming live on LinkedIn at the moment to see you here, pace yourself. Love that. Gabriel, what is happening? What is happening? How are you doing, my friend? Let me know how you're doing. All right. Just say thumbs up or give me a one to 10. Anything you can. Thanks for showing up, man. I hope you're well, and I don't know if are you on Twitch? I'm not sure what Periscope is doing these days cause Twitter said that they were going to shut Periscope down. However, I haven't seen the transition come across and I went into StreamYard last night, I went in and reconnected and it still said to Periscope and that it said Periscope is moving to Twitter and you want to move to Twitter. And he said, yes. However, I'm not seeing, let's see  what Twitter is saying just for grins. All right. Let's see. What's happening. Obviously I have not I don't know. I don't see it showing up in my feed. Maybe they haven't got it done yet. So obviously it's really about being patient, you don't have to show up everywhere. You just have to show up period. Show for yourself. There I am. Okay. It is live. Let's see if you see that. There you go. Have you watched it on Twitter before? I don't know what the experience is like. We'll see. There we go. It looks just like me, doesn't it? All these places, they're all these things, that are possible. You can have the same experiences. I know how to do it. I know how to get it done.  I know what it takes. And the reality is that so Gabriel says, hey I'm watching on Facebook. I am streaming on Twitch. Are you streaming on Twitch? Yeah, I'm  streaming on Twitch. I I have a Twitch channel as well. Gabriel says I haven't done a live stream in almost two months. I totally get that, Gabriel. I totally get that. And I don't know  if anybody recognizes this. It feels so weird to watch a stream on Facebook. Again, it probably does, man. It probably does. Another thing that is really cool or something I think is cool is I've been creating tracks every day since my birthday and posting them on SoundCloud. So audio tracks just as a mental exercise of creativity to get out of my own head. So it's one of those things that I should probably put the let me see if I can put the link in here. Yeah. I'll put the link in here. Because I actually post, or I have posted in the past. Let me put this in here and go check this out because I think it's fun. I think that's a great exercise to, oh, there we go. Now you could see that. Can you see that now, Gabriel? so I dropped the link of SoundCloud and I did this show with Devin James yesterday. And  I created a track and he created a flow, his flow therapy. He's doing another show called panic cans. It's about anxiety and stress and about a cartoon about. He's developing, it's a work in progress, but he's developing is actually documenting his process. So that episode of panic Cannes comes out every Wednesday. So look forward to that as well. Pretty cool. But Gabriel says, yes, drop the link in SoundCloud. Yes, it's coming through. Okay, cool. It went to a YouTube, Twitch, Periscope. I wonder what does, did it not go to Facebook? Oh, it went to Facebook too. It went to Facebook. All right. Cool. So go check it out. You can check out past episodes. I don't know that I have every episode on SoundCloud because that comes from my podcast, which is over on Spreaker, which is also on Apple iTunes. Or I think it's called Apple podcasts now. So on iHeart radio, it's on Spotify. It's on all the platforms. Gabriel says, he's looking for more production work. These days I'll have to hook you up. Gabriel. let's connect soon. I'd love to have a chat with you and catch up. Also there's some things going on  in the live stream world that a lot of companies are starting to think about it. They're starting to get involved in it and they're starting to get access to it. And even though it seems like everybody's involved in. Live streaming from my perspective, because that's what's in my feed and that's what I'm seeing. And that's what I always see because I don't know. Cause that's what I focus in on. So I get more of the same, which is interesting. So I want to ask this question. How do you find and discover new things? In your social stream, cause the algorithm has a tendency to show you more of what you're looking at. So I'm just curious how that works for you. And is there a strategy that you use to actually discover new things, expand your horizon, so to speak? And where do you go first to see new things evolve or show up? I'd like to know that, to hear from you and also, how have you been? I had sent a shout out to a number of pirates from a year ago and said, hey, come and join me on the #PirateBroadcast, give me updates on what's going on. And it's amazing to me how many people haven't responded or haven't been online for a long time. And I'm thinking, maybe just people get burnt out and just leave social media altogether. Or maybe they've been very productive and so productive that they can't show up on social media, which is congratulations. Okay. I always like to think that they're producing outcomes and they're doing great work, so I love it. I love it. So let's talk about who's on tomorrow. What's happening on tomorrow. We've got a few shows coming up. We've got a few people coming up. Let me see if I can bring up the agenda for tomorrow. Where's the best place for me to go to do that? Huh, Tracie? Let's do Calendly. Let me see if I can bring this up and share a few nuggets of knowledge scheduled events. Tomorrow we got Mark Savant. Mark was on a show that I was on a panel discussion a while ago. Mark is a live streamer. He's out there doing some great things and then Wednesday, I have a good friend of mine out of Houston, Mark Davis. He's a client of mine actually, and he's actually doing some great work in physical security and cybersecurity and doing some amazing things in Houston. Looking forward to that one. And then on Thursday, Irvine Nugent is going to be on, he's going to be showing up and producing some great conversation with us. And then  Friday, guess who I got on Friday? I got Adam Posner coming back online. So it's really been an amazing opportunity. So Gabriel says. I have to go actually research on other platforms and Google things associated with live streaming. It's crazy, but that's. Yeah. And here's another thing that I found, Gabriel, is one when I hit, when I say live streaming, I think about this, I think about live streaming to multiple platforms and a lot of live streaming references come back as on live streaming, like gaming, like Twitch as well. So Sheri says, I set aside time for YouTube new areas after necessary info. Can't absorb it all. I met her, I said, but been building my business so focused. Where is the best bang for the buck? Absolutely. Absolutely the best bang for your buck. I love that. And then Gabriel says, I have found that this to be the case, either they leave social media altogether, they become Uber busy and can't find the time to chat. Gabriel says nice. Got to watch Friday show. Adam has been out there for a while. He's been super busy and he's been doing some great work on there. I'm actually having a conversation with Winject Studio. They're a podcasting platform and a network that I will be offering the #PirateSyndicate support to Winject Studio. So if people want to do just the live stream and rip the audio off to their podcast and do it live that's an opportunity that we're going to be talking about. A nice, big Adam Posner fan. Absolutely. Absolutely. We'll be here, We'll be shouting it out to Adam. Mark. Mark Savant and Mark Davis and Irvine are all new pirates this week. So check it out five days a week, 7:00 AM Arizona time, and we're going to be here. We're going to be doing our thing. Tracie's working on all the setup, getting things in place and love to have you join us. I love it when you show up and thank you so much, Sheri, Gabriel. I'm not sure what this means. Jenny one or two roommate. Okay, cool.  Yeah, and tomorrow we'll even have LinkedIn back. I am so far behind because I have been also, Gabriel, uber busy and Tracie has been bugging me. She goes, I'll be happy to help you. And I just have to get organized enough to delegate. So Sheri, I have to learn how to delegate better. I got lots of things going on, lots of different types of work going on. Plus mom, going to the doctor and some medical care and some things like that. And real life happens, so we got to learn how to navigate through this thing called life. And I just really appreciate the fact that I'm able to be here. I'm able to share things I'm able to show up. And as long as I can show up, I'm going to be here and there again, pacing myself, making sure that I don't have too many things in my way, going forward. And it's really encouraging to me to see how we can actually work together, to build a community, start conversations and do some great work together. The pirate community is all about kindness. It's all about, being considerate and engaged, involved. And I just know there's so many things going on that life is busy and not everybody can show up when they need to, or when they want to. And we all have to do what we have to do. So I appreciate every moment that anyone shows up in the stream, engages in the comments and takes the time to be here and be present because it's so important that we continue to reach out to individuals. And if you're not here, hopefully you're somewhere showing up, having a conversation that's positive and productive. And, the last year has been challenging for a lot of people. And I anticipate that we're going to continue being challenged for a while. And I just want you to remember that you have people out there that care, you have people out there  that want to help you, they want to be in your life and they want to be present. And so don't forget that you are important and I would love the conversation with you. And as always, please make sure that you understand that, #kindnessiscool. Oh, and before we go, people, I should reach out to Stephanie Liu, Ross Brand and Michael Goldberg. That's a great, that's a great opportunity. So I wonder how I can actually yeah, how can I do this? I wish there was a way in StreamYard, Gabriel, getting a copy of that message and save it I'll go back to the comments. And anyway, as you know, kindnessiscool. Smiles are free. #smilesarefree. Happy Monday, have a fantastic week. And like I said, every day, 7:00 AM Arizona time. Come back, see us because #kindnessiscool, #smilesarefree. See you tomorrow.
