Introduction: [00:00:00] Welcome to the #PirateBroadcast™, where we interview #interestingpeople doing #interestingthings. Where you can expand your connections, your community, #kindnessiscool and #smilesarefree. Let’s get this party started.
Russ Johns: [00:00:10] Yeah, what's going on here? Hey twice this week, apparently somebody couldn't make it. That's okay. You know why? Because it's Friday and I'm okay with it. And I want to talk a little bit about building systems for your business. I want to talk a little bit about mindset and how to react and respond to things because we all have ups and downs in the world. And let me get in here for the comments too. Nancy says good morning from Los Angeles. Nancy, good morning. How are you doing my friend? Jenny Gold says happy fourth weekend. Absolutely. Absolutely. Martin's in the room. Hey. Hey, what's going on? Martin, nice to meet you. You already have some friends, Martin. See what happens when you show up, start making connections. Life is good. Elize is in here from South Africa. We got to get a call Elize and jump on and say hi. Learn a little bit more about each other. Marcia's in the room. Good morning pirates. Have a safe and fun holiday weekend. Yes, Ken, all the way from Malta. Hey, what's going on, man? Let's catch up soon. Going to do some good work this weekend. Can do some great stuff. Love it. Jenny says maybe there was too much happiness spread last Friday. I'm okay with too much happiness. Can you ever have enough happiness? That's the question. And that's what I want to ask. Is there enough happiness in the world? Okay. And we don't always have to be happy all the time. I know that there's times where in fact, Nancy did a post the other day that really struck a chord with me because there's sometimes burnout and depression are both very closely. The symptoms can be very much the same. Your body's fatigued. Your mind is fatigued. You're feeling down, you're feeling low, your energy is low and you really don't know why there may not be a reason for it. And so like Cathy Nesbitt and laughter yoga, sometimes you need to change it up a little bit and have a little bit of a, I don't know, something new in your life, something fresh, go for a walk or go for a drive. For me, it's I love to create things. I love to venture out and create something new. Music, images, animations, whatever it happens to be, even a website, all of these things can give you a new perspective and a new attitude. And so think about how it works for you and Marcia absolutely positively asking for prayers for your brother today. Thanks so much. I hope all will be well. And yes, sending prayers out. It makes my heart happy to know it resonated with you. I appreciate the mention. Absolutely. New experiences are vital, Ken says. Ken, and we talked about this when you're on the show, there are so many things that we have an opportunity to do. Sometimes it's overwhelming to choose what we want to do. Cause here's the thing, the age old dilemma that I go through, and maybe it resonates with somebody today. We're all taught start with the end in mind, start with a goal, have a singleness of purpose, a definiteness of purpose, have a strategy, an intention of where you're headed and the journey will take us a long, many different paths. It's never a straight line between point a to point B. And so there's so many times where, and I'll give you a perfect example, university, you go to four years of university, you say, oh, I'm going to be an accountant, a lawyer, a doctor, or whatever it happens to be, fill in the blanks. And then you get to that job or you get to that position or you get to that status and you get there and you think, this is nothing that I thought it would be. I don't really care for this. And then you go, I know so many people through my life that I've met. In fact, I met an engineer, he was an engineer. He's brilliant engineer. And he goes, I don't like being an engineer. I'm going to go be a doctor. So he went back to school to become a doctor. I don't know we lost touch, but my point is, enjoying the moment is a key part of your journey. Find time to appreciate and enjoy what you have right now. Wake up with a little, #gratitude, think about what it is that you're grateful for and just create a little mindfulness in your life. Because there's so many times where we're future tripping or we're anchoring ourselves to the past and aches and pains and, coulda, shoulda, woulda is that we don't take time to position ourself right now here, where we are, think about this episode right now, we got Michael Baker. Michael in from Florida, Nancy change your perspective, lookup, explore something new connect with nature, read a book. Absolutely. We have so many opportunities. We have so many ways that we can connect. And so I asked you, how are you connecting with yourself? What is it that you're doing to be a little more kinder? I heard somebody talking the other day about, we probably wouldn't have a friend that talks to us like our inside voice. Sometimes if you had a friend that talked to you like your inside voice talks to you sometimes. You probably wouldn't be a friend. So why are you allowing that friend to be you? Stop it. Proper planning, prevents piss poor performance. Absolutely. Absolutely, Michael. Nancy says, Marcia sending light and love to you and your brother. Thank you so much. I love it, nancy. I had no clue what I was doing when I started. If I waited to know to have a clear picture and a goal, I'd still be waiting to start. Amen to that sister. In order to have, we have to start out with doing and this is a statement from James Wedmore. If anybody follows James Wedmore is do be, do have, so you have to be the person that you want to end up being. Imagine yourself in the future, what would it be? Who would you be? What would it take to be the person that, that future person needs to be in order to reach that goal? Attain that result. That's what I mean, get in the moment and you can imagine, okay, what do I need to, who do I need to be? I need to be confident. I need to be clear in my goals. I need to be clear in my attitude. I need to be a little conscious about what's going on around me. I need to be clear about what I'm doing, what I'm focusing my time on and how I'm preparing myself and then do, doing is the action. You have to take the action. You have to be in order to be, you have to do and doing these things. Taking action every single day and preparing yourself over and over again every day when you get up, have a little #gratitude, mindfulness, reflect on what's going on, what you're spending your time on, and which is a huge challenge for me. I'm going to be completely transparent. I love squirrels. In order to have whatever it is that you want to have be the person who has that already set the intention. You can't set it for thepast. You can't say, oh, I screw up. I'm a loser. I screwed up. But you have to say, you are worthy. I am worthy of this outcome. I am worthy. Anyway, that's not necessarily where I was going to go with this conversation today, but it's always grateful. #Gratitude is always something, there's always something to be grateful for. Absolutely, absolutely positively there's no bad outcome. You learn, you grow or achieve that. You don't have to worry about anything else, because either learn something from an experience you grow from it, or you achieve some result it's neither good or bad. It's just learn, grow. Yeah. Would you ask your 18 year old self for advice? But decisions like university are made up at that time. No wonder people change their minds later. Absolutely. And it's not a judgment. It's not an accusation of failure. It's not anything like that. It's just that we have this journey that we're going on and in order to be the person that I am today, I had to go through a lot of tragedy and ugly things that took place in my life to be who I am today. I like who I am today. I'm pretty good with who I am today. And that's not to say I'm perfect. I'm far from perfect. I have scars inside. All over. We start with a goal and the universe kind of course corrects us along the way. Continued metamorphosis. Yeah. The universe will conspire to provide you with what you're asking for. And if you continue to tell yourself how... beat yourself up. The universe will actually assist you in that process. You'll get more of whatever you focus on. So focus on the positive focus on the positive. Martin says so true. Absolutely. Luis, good morning, Russ from groovy Los Angeles. How's the heat? It feels like rain today in Arizona. Marcia, do you feel rain in your side of the city? Michael Baker, not always, not if Amazon is involved. Let's all say a little prayer for Marcia to get back on Amazon. They're killing her. Love you, Marcia. I have some updates for you. Thank you. Martin agreed. Thousand percent positive attitude, lean in the uncomfortable remain open to the picture looking for very different than what you imagined. Good morning from Denver. Jenny, hope you're having a wonderful day and everybody congratulate Jenny for getting LinkedIn Live. I'm sure she's going to have some announcements coming up. Love your perspective and insight, Russ Johns. Thank you. Thank you so much. Thinking of stoics cause stoic philosophy is that there's a lot of what I follow in this stoic philosophy. And if you've ever studied it at all, it's let stuff go, enjoy the good and the bad equally. Don't get too excited about one or the other. And think about the little speck of time we have in the universe. And say, what am I going to do today? What impact am I going to make today in order to achieve something that I can create, inspire or motivate somebody to do something else. And it's all part of the process. We also who you are today. Thank you. Now it's all you got when you are being you're in the now, which means you're connected to your real self. The by-product of this #inspiration is to do as a result of have everything. Everything is out there that we need. Life is abundant. We, when we imagine that it's not. Like I said the universe conspires to help us achieve that result. Oh, by the way, always remember to laugh a lot more. Absolutely. And also you know that Cathy Nesbitt taught us a secret when you can't laugh or when you don't feel like laughing, just put a pen in your mouth because the muscles that you use to hold the pen in your mouth are the same you use to laugh and your brain doesn't know that difference. Fun fact. So martin says Ken would love to connect, have a project I'd love to have your help for Martin. Ken, make that connection. Well done. You will rock LinkedIn live with Jenny Gold. I can see it now. Jenny Gold, so happy for you and congrats on being approved for LinkedIn. Live. See Jenny happy for you. Use it as well. Nancy says it had already happened. You're just catching up to it. Fun fact, hashtag fun fact. It's I'm just always amazed and we have so much opportunity in our lives, so much abundance. And like I said, I am far from perfect. And part of my challenge every single day is what can I focus my time and energy on. I have a tendency to get distracted along my journey and want to help others along their journey. And I get excited about projects and I get excited about what people are working on. And I would love to have a hundred hours a day so I could help more people. And the reality is we, you have to make sure that we're focusing on some of the things that can help other people. Right now I'm working on a mastermind that I've developed over years of practicing and discipline and using a process to book calls and leads, introductions, and all of these things that go along with that. And as everybody knows me, I'm a fan of Dubb software. And so that's helping me grow the #PirateSyndicate. The #PirateBroadcast and all of the things I have going on right now. And I'm actually part of the WinJect Studios environment, the community over there, which I've got a meeting right after this, big things are happening over there. And I have another podcast on Tuesdays at 11:00 AM every Tuesday morning. So I'll be starting to share that out. And then also I've been working on my Amazon. I know Marcia don't get shocked, but I am working on my Amazon live strategy. So forthose that don't know, there's an Amazon live influencer program that I'm now part of, and I'm going to start doing shows over there and I haven't identified, I'm studying a little bit and seeing what everybody else is doing, and I think I'll do something different that will equally benefit the show. And so that's something else on the horizon. However, I would love to have you share out the fact that I'm doing a mastermind. I'm only inviting 10 people, 10 people are included and it's really good. Angie, good morning. Happy fourth to everyone. I hope you're having a positive and productive day. You get off early and have a long weekend because you deserve it because you're awesome. Thinking about that. We have available to us more info in one day than our grandparents had available in a lifetime. Yep. That is so true. Ken, no shortage of information. There's no shortage of abundance. And that's part of the reason why it's so difficult to focus in, for myself anyway. The attention cause I love learning. I love learning new stuff. I love that. What other people are doing and how they're doing it. And it's really important to me to actually learn as much as possible. Why? I dunno, it's just who I am. Jenny and Nancy, look forward to that. Thank you so much, Jenny Gold. It was my privilege. Thank you for trusting me with the honor. Can't wait for you to go live. Absolutely. What's a long weekend. Tracie says. Love you, Tracie. It was Tracie's birthday. I hope everybody wished Tracie happy birthday. So she's awesome. She produces the show and I couldn't do it without her, so I just really appreciate all the work that you do, Tracie. Keep rising Russ. Thank you, Nancy. I love you. I love you. What's a long weekend. DM me the info for the mastermind. I would love to get the word out. Thank you. Absolutely. In fact, I was going to talk about it today. I got off on this tangent about #gratitude and alignment and some of the things that were top of mind. And when I saw Nancy jump in, I had to mention that her post inspired me to think about some things in life. Elize says, happy birthday, Tracie. That's wonderful, I love this. You guys are so amazing. So awesome. This is where quiet time is essential. Stay quiet, get inspired and your next step will be presented to you. I can't add anything to that. Ken that's golden Russ Johns. I have the squirrels too. Yes, Tracie is the best. I couldn't do life without her. She's awesome. Happy birthday, Tracie. So I have to ask everyone a question. I'm going to ask everybody a question. Are you going to have a good day? And I want the answer to be yes. However, if you're not, then let's talk. Nancy says happy birthday. Always keep real and groovy. Luis, I love that. I will, I'll do my best, my very best. And we'll continue to be here, continue to show up. Jenny Gold says happy birthday, Tracie. Tracie, ah, the hearts, absolutely love to be here. So Marcia Reece, absolutely. It's going to be a fantastic day. I promise it will be a fantastic day set that intention set that. And even though, somebody cuts you off in traffic or you drop a dish on the floor, spill some milk, just take a moment and say, laugh. Just laugh. It's like nothing you can do about it. Your reaction is not going to assist or support a result in a positive way. So just laugh about it and say that happened. Look at that. It happened. Let's move on. I love it. I love it. And I wish everybody absolutely the positively the best day possible. My goal, my mission in life is to add a little value, maybe inspire a few people, highlight somebody else in the world, shine the light on somebody else and allow them the opportunity to be who they are and share their gifts once in a while. And life can be serious. However, we don't always have to be so serious about life. Do, be, have, grow, learn. You're supposed to slow down and breathe. Oh, yes, you have to spend the day with a pen between my teeth. I'm always here. Marcia. You can call me if you need to talk. Jenny Gold. Yes. Slow down and breathe attention on intention. Yeah. It's the second half of the year and I have big plans for the rest of the year. I have big goals and I'm going to be sharing as much as possible and working to support more people, working to spend more time sharing information, highlighting others and doing some great work. So stay tuned for that. I really appreciate the fact that you're here. All the #gratitude in the world. I love you all here on the #PirateBroadcast so many things to be grateful for. If you're in the U S and you're celebrating the 4th of July weekend please do me a favor and enjoy the weekend. Spend time with family, reach out. If you haven't connected with somebody for awhile, connect with them, reach out, tell them you love them. Talk to them, say hi, do things that are going to be positive and productive. Be the inspiration for the person in the room, inspire others around you, encourage and enlighten, lighten up the day. And if your other plates in the world, and you're not doing celebrating, do the exact same thing, I'm going to be here on Monday. I'm going to continue to work throughout the weekend. Yeah. A long weekend, as Tracie said, I don't know what that is. I love what I do. So I do a lot of it. Paging Tim and Brian Schulman. Yes. Looking forward to celebrating you and your successes. Yes, absolutely. It's 4:30 PM. So a little bit late for my decision now to make that decision was made an hour ago, but choose wisely. And also for anybody else Ken's got some programs going on. He's an awesome individual. He lives in Malta on the island Malta. And he's an amazing individual connect with him. Reach out. This is the reason why we're here is to make these connections, build a community you're not alone. You don't have to do this alone. Chris Stone. What's up, my friend? I sent you a text the other day. I don't know if you got it. Hopefully. And I just I'd love to connect and catch up with you. I got some questions about the Amazon live. Thank you, Jenny. I love your mug. I don't know if you know this or not, but you can go toRussJohns.com slash I think store and I got product. Of course I don't promote it because I don't promote a lot of what I do. I show up, oh, somebody will like me, somebody we'll buy my stuff. Oh, anyway, I'm wishing you the very best in all your adventures today. Thank you so much for being here. And I'm glad we had this time together and as always, you know what they say? What is it? # kindnessiscool and #smilesarefree so you#enjoytheday. Take care everyone.
