Hold on. Is that better? Is that any better? Can you hear me now? Hey, good morning. Thank you so much for being here. It's a great day for the #piratebroadcast. I know that we're on our way here to get the show started. Just waiting for Kevin to arrive. He's having a few challenges. So I sent him a message. As you know, if you program a live stream, and you don't start it, everything evaporates, it goes away like magic. So I wanted to make sure that I started the show, and had the opportunity to make sure that he had everything in place, so we can actually get started and get moving. It's a good morning, it's a good day. Everything that we do, we have to do with a little bit of, let's say resiliency, because that's what life is all about these days. 2020 is the year for being resilient and being compassionate toward others and having patience and some of the empathy that needs to go into what other people are experiencing. You know, I love the fact that...Kenyatta says, we can hear you. Excellent. Excellent. So we're here. We're having an awesome program. Lori says, good morning, Russ. Thank you so much for being here. Love it. Then there's Sheri Lally, SlapTagz, good morning. I just love the way that we can get together. Kenyatta says, Hey I don't know this guy, Kevin, but he's got a cool last name, so I need to see what he's all about! Thanks, Kenyatta. While we're waiting for Kevin, it's really important for us to understand that we can still get together in some way shape or form. To illustrate that point, Kenyatta, Art Jones and myself are going to be doing the #LinkedInLocal pop up, remix today. So if you're not familiar with what that is, you can sign up, Kenyatta, you could probably drop the drop the link here for people. We had a #LinkedInLocal pop up, a lot of people showed up, we filled the room up, and it was amazing. What we wanted to do is just kind of check in with people, you know, revisit, extend the invitation, make sure that we're staying connected and following up with people. Right now, some people are challenged and some people are excited and things are moving forward. So they're taking place, we have an opportunity to do great things and make big changes and continue to make progress. However, we all need to be patient about it. One thing I was recently reflecting on the other day was this idea that, as anyone learns a new skill, there's this idea of opportunity that we have...okay, so, no, I don't want to remove my destination. It just says we're having a problem streaming to my live stream on my profile. I don't know if anybody's familiar with Facebook, but they're up doing all kinds of updates recently. So back to my point. As you learn a new skill, it's not just that you read a book, and you automatically know everything about the subject. There's a process, it's a process of learning, and then applying that experience in education, and then learning a little bit more and applying that. Having proficiency in a skill of any kind takes time, it takes effort, it takes energy. A lot of people see this kind of immediately happening on online, and they measure their success against what they see online, where people have taken years, you know, it's like, hey, he was an overnight success, it only took about nine years. So the adage is the same for any kind of skill and application you have. That's why it's great to have somebody, coach or teach you or be a mentor, or support you in a lot of different ways. I couldn't do the #piratebroadcast without the support of other people on the team, Tracie, Melanie, some of the people on the team that are doing great work behind the scenes, they support the #piratebroadcast, they support me in this journey of producing results. So in turn, I also want to produce results for the audience, the community. So it's really about how can we pay it forward? How can we give it back and this continue this cycle of improvement? Anyway, that was top of mind today, and I just wanted to share that. A couple of other people are in there doing the same thing, We have ORL_Cares saying, resiliency! Yes. Thank you so much for being here. I love your products, by the way. I love your products. Thank you so much for being here, Howard. I appreciate that. Hiett Ives is here. Good morning, Russ. You came up in a conversation yesterday. I hope profanity wasn't involved because that's never a good thing. Kenyatta says, hey, Lori Knudsen. Good morning. Thank you so much. Greetings, mateys. Nice to see you. Namaste. Jeff Young. Loved the video. Thank you so much for including me in your life and giving me an opportunity to to be part of your community and part of your world. It's always great to be included in some of those activities. Howard says greetings. Still again. Love your stuff. So, Kenyatta. Thank you so much, Jeff Young. Howard Kaufman. Yes. He's in the room. Sheri Lally is here. Learning to navigate new paths. Sheri, can you see comments on LinkedIn now? Or the comments on LinkedIn? I'll give her a moment to respond. Cathi Spooner. Thank you so much for being here. I give her a high five. Sheri Lally also says, because it's an on demand world, most don't want to plant a seed. They want to purchase the product without the harvesting requirements. Yes. Instant gratification. I get a little nervous when Prime doesn't show up my door every day. It's so true. So true. So Lisa Fenton says, hello from Canada. How are you Lisa, how things going up your way? Love to hear updates from you what you're doing. Howard Kaufman, sorry, didn't intend to be information infomercial, but YouTube link was up and not LinkedIn until now. Howard, I'm more than happy to promote your product. I'm not opposed to that. We're all on LinkedIn. Do you realize that there's a high percentage...in fact, I have a webinar coming up. If you're not in this webinar, I actually need to figure out this webinar. Kevin Turner says, StreamYard won't allow my cam and mic, still trying. Sometimes, technology is not very forgiving for us. So Kevin's still trying and we'll continue to go on. I do, however, have an event that I want to invite you to. It's at 10 o'clock. Now, people that know me know that if it's on my calendar, it happens. If it's not on my calendar, it doesn't really happen. So I want to be able to share this link with you. I emailed a bunch of people yesterday. Okay, I'm gonna drop this link in here. Let me see if I can do this banner. Create a banner. All right. I'm gonna show this banner. Okay, so this banner is...it says my mic is muted. Okay, that's my second mic. Okay, my friends over at Dubb, Ruben and Darius are on a webinar with me this morning. It's at 10 o'clock. I'm going to be talking about podcasting, video marketing, and LinkedIn and how that fits together and how I've been able to create over 250 shows in the last year. That's a lot of episodes. On YouTube, I have over 500 videos, and I think I was looking at the statistics and I don't really promote YouTube as much. So if you'd like to go there, I would really love to have you subscribe to my YouTube channel. I should probably put it in the link as well and get better at promotion. Anyway, long story short is that I'll be doing this at 10am Pacific Standard Time. Darius and I are gonna be talking about video marketing and the #piratebroadcast and how I do my process in the back office and how this all comes together. So I'd love to have you join me, love to see you there and make sure that we have an opportunity and an option to actually share that information. Skynet put the glitch in the matrix. Yeah. Mr. Turner is having a glitch today. So it's a challenge some days, I have challenging technology days as well. Gabriel says, I hate waiting on the LinkedIn stream and comments. There's about 25 second delay to wait Facebook's about 10 seconds delay and YouTube is about five seconds depending on the latency. It'd be nice if we could just have a conversation, wouldn't it, Gabriel? Gabriel was actually restreaming this show the other day and streaming it to his platform, which I thought was brilliant. There's some technology...in fact, tomorrow, Ecam, Ecam Live is a Mac platform to be able to broadcast. You're live streaming like this you're gonna live stream to different platforms. It's not the same as StreamYard. StreamYard is based on simplicity. E-Cam has a little more features, bells and whistles and functionality. Now they're bringing native video sharing, so I can have guests in the room, up to four in the room to share that out. I'll be playing with that in the future. That's what I use for my Two Minute Tips. I've been playing with that, using that a couple of times. I like doing my Two Minute Tips. I like to record that, stream that to YouTube, and then download it and upload it to LinkedIn because I know it's just an experiment I'm going through. So yeah, all that to say, Gabriel, yes, I hate waiting on the live LinkedIn stream. So it's going there. Hiett says, I met Howard on your show and he's led me down another path. Thanks to you both. That's the value of the #piratebroadcast, meeting people, exchanging introductions, making sure that people have what they need when they need it. Don't be shy if you need something. I can help you reach out. DM me, let me know if there's somebody that you need to meet or somebody that you want to meet or something you're looking for, or assistance that I could provide or know somebody that can provide for you. Don't be shy. We can do this for community. Hello there, Gabriel Sheri Lally, Lisa Fenton. Love you all. On the fly producing, #RussJohns. Love Live streaming. I'm there with you, brother. I'm there with you. I love live streaming. Check out #RussJohns webinar at 10am. Thank you Kenyatta. I sent an email out to several of you. Last minute actually, like several pirates, and I just wanted to make sure that we have an opportunity. Kevin messaged me. It's no problem. You'll figure it out. Hey, Kevin. just watch the show. It's not a problem. This stuff happens. Technology is not always our friend. Kevin's is unable to get on there. Try from your phone, if you like. I'll send him a message. We'll see if that works out. I gotta to tell you, I do not recommend anyone break their hip. This is very uncomfortable. So Kenyatta Turner. Hello, there wonderful friend. You always bring the energy to the room. Just registered. Thanks. Thank you so much, Howard. Appreciate that. Let's see. Lots of comments today. Thank you so much. Howard. I can't thank you enough. Sheri Lally says, Kenyatta Turner, it took adding and deleting the app again to get into this live. Oh, newsflash update. Side story. This is an exciting one for me because I had been doing the #piratebroadcast at 7am in the morning and not everybody wants to be up at 7, starting at 7. East Coast time, it's 10 o'clock. Not a problem for some people. However, I thought it would be really nice to be able to do alternative timeframes and adjust my schedule for different types of shows different types of interviews and Gabriel, you'll be happy to hear that I finally got a message back from my case, my case in LinkedIn, that eventually they'll be registering me for #LinkedInLive for my business page. www.russjohns.com. Go there and sign up, follow me over there. I'll be able to do shows at russjohns.com. I don't know when I'll get it. I don't know when it will arrive. 've been requesting this for probably eight months now. Eight months and what happens is you open a case and request it. So yeah, we know you're busy. Thank you for your inquiry and then they close the case and I don't know what happens? It goes on a magic list that evaporates over 24 hours? Who knows? However, they said, yes, we hear you. Okay. We'll get you on #LinkedInLive. So I'm looking forward to that and looking to generate some additional unique shows that are not necessarily the #piratebroadcast. However, they will be alternative times, they may pop up anytime, anywhere. You never know. It's like the #LinkedInLive local remix, the pop up here, the remix of the pop up this afternoon. It could be exciting, so stay tuned on that one. Just an update. Jeff Young says, Kenyatta, that is mixing "metaphors," Terminator and matrix...but I get it. So that's funny. I love that. Jeff, you're awesome. Paolo. Hello. How are you? Kenyatta says, yes, thanks for picking up what I was putting down. So there are several things in the world today that are taking place and evolving. I love the #piratebroadcast community. I love and appreciate the fact that you're here. All of these conversations are taking place. I know that we're all busy, we all have things to do in our lives. I truly appreciate the fact that you're here. You're allowing me to share some stories, introductions to new people that we can actually make a connection with. Hiett and Howard. Those are two individuals that have been involved in my life for a little while. Hiett, I've known for years from Houston and networking there. Hiett, I don't know, if you remember back in the Mainstreet chamber days, we grew that network, we had several chapters and lots of people. I think we had one event that almost 1000 people RSVP'd to that event. It's just one of these things that we have an opportunity to make those connections, make those introductions, even if we can't meet in person, utilizing technology and video zoom sessions and team meetings and Google Beat, there's so many technologies available today that weren't available a number of years ago. I really encourage people to reach out when it's appropriate, when there's time available and stay connected. I know that I can improve my ability to reach out and spend time with the community and maybe send an email out once in awhile. There's so many areas that we can always improve. If I can just improve 1% every day, and make that little incremental difference in my life, then it can help more people in the community. I can help you achieve your results by setting an example or sharing a lesson or an experience of some kind. Hopefully, it resonates with somebody, somewhere at some point. I just feel that it's really important for us to do what we can to help each other out. It's really important for me and it's one of my passions that I have. I just want to thank you so much. All the gratitude in the world. I really appreciate you for being here. I just want to share that to the bottom of my heart. Yeah. I also want to recognize that I know that we have a lot of things that are going on and I just want to recognize that I have some clients that have some events coming up. Kenyatta, Art and I are going to be doing thisb#LinkedInLocal pop up remix today. I'll post it in my feed. Kenyatta, can you post the link to that here? if you're there. That's available to us and I want to make sure the webinar with Dubb this morning is going on? Tomorrow, I'm producing a show for OGGN, one of the number one podcasts in the world in the oil and gas industry because it's based in Houston. I've spent years in Houston. I have connections there with...actually Mark Lacour, who's been a pirate, he's been on the show. We met through friends. Warren Spiewak is also a friend who I met through the Two Minute Tips a couple of years ago. I just want to set this example as an opportunity to understand that all of these incremental changes in all these incremental steps, lead to conversations, and you're one conversation away from doing business with somebody. So it's really important for me to help you, encourage you, support you, and allow you to believe and inspire you that there is something out there that you can do, and you can make a difference in. That's what this this community is all about. It's about supporting each other, pay it forward. Make sure that you're encouraging those around you and becoming 1% better. We only need to be 1% every day. Also, next week, the fifth through the ninth, Aman, she was on Monday, she runs Spark Thought. So the SparkCon 2020 is an event that I'll be moderating next week. That's another opportunity that came up. I think it's really important for us to really consider how we can actually add value and where we can add value. For me, producing a podcast or producing a live stream show is a great opportunity because I I love the technology, I love learning about the technology, and practicing the technology, and everything that goes along with that. It's a great fit. Gabriel says, you need to create a Patreon and have a membership for people looking for additional content from #RussJohns. I actually do have a Patreon. That's an area where, Gabe, I've been thinking about it, considering how to position that and how to do a group like that. If I just put some energy into it and, as you know, having grown your YouTube channel, because you're ahead of myself now in number of subscribers. You put a little more effort in your YouTube channel and you've seen the results. You recognize what it takes to get there. So it's a matter of my taking some energy and effort and moving in that direction. Then Hiett says yes, one more step forward every day. Sarathi says, hi, everyone. Happy morning/evening. We're all good, Sarathi, thank you so much for being here. Kenyatta, says, boom! www.linkedin.com/events/linkedinlocal-popuptheremix. There you go. pop up the remix. I think it's really one of those things that you want to attend. I mean, we'd be dropping knowledge bombs and exchanging some updates and conversation around that. If you're looking to create a few more contacts, or you're looking for something specific, let's do that. Jeff young says, I think Patreon is a great idea for Russ. I support several artists there. Oh, thank you so much, Jeff. I love the idea that there's support out there. 100% so many opportunities. I love supporting service. I love supporting the community, so anything I can do to promote...Cathi Spooner says, love the positive focus for providing services -point others to achieve their goal. I had to be completely transparent and let you know that I have probably failed at more startups than most people ever start. They're experiments. I call them experiments, where you create something early, and you create something that may not necessarily be...it's kind of like a first iteration, where it's an experiment where you put it out in the world and then people are like, that's a cool idea. I'm not sure that I buy it, though. Sometimes it's the product, sometimes it's the message, sometimes it's the community. So finding that combination of doing what you love, having people love what you do, and having people be willing to invest in what you're doing to improve their life. That's when the magic happens. That's when things take place. I was thinking about creating small episodes of just simple techniques that you can do to produce positive outcomes. Actually, if you go to russjohns.com/courses, I think I even have some courses built in there that you can probably watch and check out. There again, it goes back to I just had to put in the energy to make that happen. So anyway, I've been rambling, Jeff, Kevin, Lisa, Kenyatta, Sarathi, Gabriel, Cathi, everyone in the room today, Howard, Hiett. Thank you so much for showing up. I know that we have a lot going on in the room, we have a lot going on in our lives and for you taking the time out to to listen to me is is amazing. I really appreciate you. I appreciate everything that we have going on. As we wrap it up today, I just want to say thank you. Thank you, thank you. Because as you know, #kindnessiscool, #smilesarefree and you #enjoytheday. Take care, everyone. Hey, see you at 10 o'clock pacific time. So be there. I'll be looking for you. RSVP cuz we'll record it and then you can get the recording if you can't watch it. So RSVP anyway. All right, just saying. Take care. love y'all.
